![]() ![]() There’s also plenty of space up front and in the back – even for tall adults. That said, our car had the rather exquisite extended leather in Cloud/Ebony (standard on this top-spec Autobiography) – although we probably wouldn’t recommend this colour combo to parents of mucky children. The rest of the interior is pretty much unchanged, although Range Rover is encouraging customers to consider leather alternatives to be more sustainable. At least there is a physical button on the steering wheel for the driver. The gear selector has been replaced with a stubbier lever, which actually provides a decent support for your wrist while using the screen, but the integration of the volume control into the screen is a pain. When you’re on the move it’s more difficult than before to adjust the temperature controls with no physical switches to use. ![]() Used Range Rover Evoque (Mk1, 2011-2018) review.Used Range Rover Evoque (Mk2, 2018-date) review.New Range Rover Evoque D180 2019 review.New Range Rover Evoque PHEV 2020 review.Audi Q3 vs Range Rover Evoque vs Volvo XC40.Whereas before you’d find a 10-inch unit above a smaller climate control panel lower down, everything’s now been bundled into the new 11.4-inch touchscreen. The biggest change is the swap from a dual-screen display to a larger single touchscreen in the middle of the dash. It seems more effort has been put into giving the interior a refresh. The front end also features revised ‘Pixel LEDs’ with new matrix dimming technology. There’s a new front grille and slimmer head and tail-lights, adhering to Range Rover’s new reductive design approach. While there are exterior changes, you’d hardly call this a facelift. So what’s new on the Evoque? Well, it’s a subtle update. For 2024, Range Rover has tweaked its baby SUV and we’ve tried it with plug-in hybrid power in range-topping Autobiography trim. It’s sweet to drive and crucially, it stands out visually in the super-competitive premium SUV market. It takes the luxurious appeal of the full-fat Range Rover and condenses it into a smaller, more affordable offering. Range Rover describes the Evoque as its “greatest sales success story” and it’s not hard to see why. Pricing is steep though, and there are more practical alternatives. The interior now comes with the technology to back up its class-leading quality, and the plug-in hybrid powertrain is impressive – provided you keep on top of charging. The Evoque is still a stand-out offering in the compact premium SUV sector. ![]()
